Ismael González González

Ismael González González is an ITPS member since January 27, 2025. He is a third-year pre-doctoral researcher at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), where he is pursuing a PhD focused on the development of electrodes derived from modified hydrochar for the degradation of pollutants in water through the electro-Fenton process. The hydrochar used in his work is sourced from diverse organic residues, aligning with circular economy strategies and contributing to the design of environmentally friendly catalytic materials.

His research integrates principles of green chemistry, waste valorization, and advanced oxidation technologies to produce sustainable electrochemical systems for wastewater treatment.

Before beginning his doctoral studies, he worked as a laboratory technician at LAGUA, the ENAC-accredited Water Treatment Laboratory at URJC. There, he gained practical experience in water quality control, carrying out microbiological analyses, physicochemical tests, and nematode egg detection for applications in both environmental monitoring and public health.

He holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (2016), and a Master's degree in Energy and Fuels for the Future from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2018).

His academic and professional background reflects a strong commitment to applied environmental science and sustainable technologies.
